We certify that 100% of these pieces have been handmade and hand-decorated by Lencan artisans in Honduras. We further certify that we bought 100% of these pieces from cooperatives, at fair prices, direct from the artisans themselves, or from retail establishments that have implemented fair trade practices and buy in bulk from the artisans who make this art. .

A typical cooperative

We at Lenca Art Store can certify this process because we have invested the time and money to build relationships with the cooperatives and their distribution outlets, and we have 100% control over all aspects of our supply chain. We visit the cooperatives ourselves, we meet the artists, we select the pieces we want and pay the asking price, and we pack it ourselves and ship it to the United States. Some of the pieces break enroute, which is a cost of doing business. We could probably make more money if we squeezed our suppliers for volume discounts, but we prefer to we pay a fair price and keep this art alive. For us, it's not about making money as much as it is about philanthropic capitalism.

What this means to you is that, in purchasing this art, you have 100% certainty that you are supporting the women that actually make the goods. You are purchasing a unique piece that did no harm to the Earth in its production. And you are purchasing some pretty cool art for your home.
